Embedded
Systems Designer
We
are looking for engineers with various levels of experience who will
utilize their knowledge and experience in digital electronics, firmware and embedded systems to help us develop and
design high voltage power supplies for X-ray sources used in medical and industrial applications.
As
a part of our strategic focus on offering high performance,
cutting-edge high voltage power supplies, we are searching for a
talented, creative and motivated engineer to focus on the design,
development, implementation, testing, and documentation of digital
controls of high voltage power supplies and X-ray sources
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and development of electronic circuits used in embedded systems.
- Development of control algorithms and associated firmware for
power converters.
- Development of software running on PCs using Windows and Linux.
- Research in the field of new technologies and techniques used in digitally controlled power electronics.
- Implement, test, and troubleshoot firmware and hardware.
- Participate in inverter and control circuitry hardware
analysis, design, and development.
- Conduct conformal testing required by various regulatory agencies
and create documentation required for obtaining necessary
certifications (CE, FDA, NMPA, etc.).
- Write
and maintain technical documents such as prototype documentation, test
procedures, user manuals, engineering change notices, etc.
- Work closely with and support other engineering functions, as well as the quality, test and manufacturing departments.
- Work
with sales and, when required, with customers directly to provide
stellar customer support and investigate new business opportunities.
- Conduct training for new and existing customers.
- Work with cross functional team members in other AHV
sites.
- Occasionally travel to other AHV and customer
sites worldwide for training and support.
QUALIFICATIONS &
REQUIREMENTS
- BScEE or MScEE.
- Deep understanding of embedded design principles.
- Knowledge of real time operating systems, digital signal
processing, and digital control
- Deep understanding of digital hardware design using DSP or microntrollers.
- Extensive familiarity with firmware design using common development tools.
- Experience with circuit simulation and code generation
software.
- Working knowledge of C programming language and/or its variants (C++, C#).
- Ability to create basic graphical user interfaces (GUI, HMI or MMI) for operator control.
- Good understanding of software development and design process.
- Ability to create and read schematics, electrical and mechanical
drawings, PCB layouts and BOMs.
- Experience working in a Windows-based environment, Linux is a plus.
- Windows programming is a plus.
- Knowledge of analog electronics is a plus.
- Profficiency
in written and verbal communication in English.
- Willingness to work with
global customers across several time zones.
- Willingness to operate in a high-energy, fast-paced
environment with minimal direction.
- Openness to ask questions, make suggestions, and willingness to learn.
- Disciplined approach to application of safety measures.
- Ability to travel internationally.
